sm's room, AKA the blue room
sm's room, a.k.a. the blue room. It has East light, so despite the fact that Tom wanted the blue room, sm got it. Poor Tom. He had to have the master bedroom instead.

This door leads to the upper part of the front hall. We'll go there later on this page.
The entrance to the front stairwell
The front stairwell has its own window. Pat the bunny likes to sit on the bed.
PICT0013.JPG
This room has the largest closet of any room in the house. Above the secretary desk is a pipe cover. Mysteriously, it seems to be the only pipe in the house, and it leads perhaps to the chimney. The doorway on the right leads to the upstairs living room.
Before: looking toward the upstairs living room.
This is what the room looked like before we moved in.
Looking across the room to the living room
This is the same view, but with our stuff instead.
The closet also has another section on the right...
Here's what the closet looks like (of course, with lots of sarah-marie clothes in it). The closet also has another section on the right...
Here's that section, with an old stovepipe above the rod
Here's that section, with an old stovepipe above the rod. Note the shelf behind for things like tall hats.

The ceiling beam is perfect for hanging lights and plants.
The cat clock above the dresser
It was difficult to believe that the cat clock sm's mom and dad gave her the previous year matched so perfectly, but it does! Check out that color consonance.

Here's another view of the lovely light. (Notice, in the picture to the right, how happy the Raggedys were with this house.)
The top of the front stairwell
This is the top of the front stairwell, and that door leads to Tom's room.
This door goes from the stairwell into Tom's room
Here's another historical note: See that panel on the right? Well, it's not a panel. No, it's a board. Think about the tree that produced such a board, and think about how big it must have been, and then think about the last time you saw such a tree, if ever, in the Northeastern U.S..
Looking down the stairs
Looking down the front stairwell...
